How we estimate — and why a ruler beats a calculator
We start from what attics were typically built with in the Edmonton area for each era, then apply settling: loose-fill compacts under its own weight and wind at the eaves scours the edges, so an attic blown to R-40 in 1998 often reads like R-25 today. If you enter a measured depth we use that instead — it's far more accurate. Either way, the number that goes on your quote is the one we measure at several points across your attic, photographed, for free.
