What Do You need for Homemade Cleaning Hacks?
The first thing you’re going to want to do is purchase or recycle a couple of spray bottles, once they’re cleaned out fill one with regular water and the other with white vinegar. If you don’t like the smell of vinegar you can squeeze a citrus fruit such as an orange or lemon into the vinegar bottle. Once you are armed with both bottles and a box of sodium bicarbonate or baking soda you’re ready to start cleaning.
Living Room Homemade Cleaning Hacks
Let’s start in the living room by spreading baking soda over your entire carpet, some people like to add an essential oil to their baking soda to leave a fresh scent in the home. I like starting here because you want to leave the baking soda on the carpet for about a half an hour before vacuuming it up. Baking soda will absorb most acidic based smells. Having a great vacuuming routine using baking soda will reduce the amount of times that you will need to have professional carpet cleaning services.
Bathroom Homemade Cleaning Hacks
Next let’s move into the bathroom where we’re going to sprinkle baking soda all over the toilet, then spray vinegar over the baking soda and watch the cleaning bubbles go to work. Let this sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse away. You can use the same method as above for washing your tubs and sinks. For cleaning all the windows and mirrors in your home simply spray with vinegar and white clean with an old newspaper or paper towel for a streak free finish.

For cleaning kitchen counters and other hard surfaces you can use the same method as described above for cleaning tubs and sinks, simply sprinkle baking soda all over the desired surface and mist with vinegar spray. The bubbling action will not only live dirt for for services but the vinegar will also kill microorganisms well sanitizing your counter tops.
Other Homemade Cleaning Hacks
Now if you have sterling silver or silver plated cutlery and it’s become tarnished then using baking soda to clean it is a quick and effective way of bringing that luster back. Now all you need to do is find a deep baking dish about 2 to 3 inches deep, line it with heavy duty foil wrap and put a layer of your silver cutlery on top of it. Sprinkle all the cutlery with baking soda and have a prepared kettle of boiling water ready to dump over top of the cutlery. Make sure the boiling water fully submerge is your forks and spoons and leave sit for for five minutes. After you’ve let this sit for a few minutes simply take them out of the water using a pair tongs so you don’t burn yourself rinse them off under cold water and dry them. They’re ready to go back in the drawer looking great.
