More than 600 Birds of different breeds were on display for the annual Peavey Mart Alberta poultry and pigeon show in Stony Plain on January 6th. the show is similar to that of a cattle or dog show where the birds are displayed against one another. https://goo.gl/K4W4CE
New Neonatal Care Facility Coming To St. Albert
St. Albert sturgeon hospital is getting a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. the neonatal area will consist of 6 units and is expected to open in 2019. This is a 2.3 million dollar project but is required for the increasingly busy Maternity Ward which deals with more than 3,000 births per year. https://goo.gl/LNeRjc
Domestic Violence On The Rise?
Strathcona County has seen an increase in domestic violence cases, A safe place which is Strathcona only women shelter hosted 358 women over the course of one year, that’s almost one per day.
