The price is not a secret because it is complicated — it is a secret because the number you are told on the phone and the number on the invoice are often not the same number. The Upsell Problem, Explained

A low advertised price gets the truck into the driveway. Then the price starts climbing. Extra vents beyond the “up to 10” in the ad. A “sanitizing treatment.” A furnace part that suddenly needs replacing. A mould scare. By that point the equipment is half-disassembled, the homeowner is already committed, and saying no feels harder than saying yes.
It works because it is structured to work. The advertised price is a door-opener, not a quote. We built our pricing model specifically to make that impossible: we price by the system, not by the vent count. The number you are quoted on the phone is the number on the invoice. The only things quoted separately are the two genuinely different jobs listed below — and you will hear about those before we book, not after we arrive.
Every Furnace Price Includes All Of Its Ducting And Diffusers
This is the single most important thing to understand about duct cleaning pricing, and it is where most homeowners get burned.
When we quote a single furnace, that price covers the furnace, every run of ducting connected to it, and every diffuser in the house. Not “up to 10 vents.” Not “main floor only.” All of it.
Why the vent count is the wrong unit. A furnace does not clean itself one vent at a time — the system is sealed, put under negative pressure, and worked as a whole. Charging per vent bills you for arithmetic, not for work. So we charge for the system, which is the thing we actually clean.

A stand-alone dryer vent cleaning visit is $225 if a bird’s nest has to be cleared. Roof-exhausting vents are quoted separately — that is genuinely a different job, and we would rather tell you upfront than surprise you on arrival.
That is the entire price list for a typical home. There is no per-vent arithmetic done on your kitchen table after the truck is already parked in your driveway. What A Real Duct Cleaning Actually Involves
Not all duct cleaning is the same job. Some of it is a shop vac and a smile. Here is what actually happens on our trucks:
- We arrive fully equipped. Everything the job needs is on the truck — no trips back to the shop mid-job.
- The air line runs to the KOP75. We bring the negative-air unit into your basement and run a high-pressure air line to it from the truck.
- The KOP75 seals above your furnace. The vacuum connects directly to your ductwork, creating negative pressure through the entire system.
- A whip hose runs to the top floor. We start at the vent farthest from the furnace — the one most companies skip.
- Every vent gets blasted. Compressed air drives dust and debris out of each individual vent, top floor first, then main floor.
- The trunk lines are agitated and cleaned. We work the main lines back toward the furnace, where the KOP75 captures everything.
- Debris is captured outside your home. The KOP75 exhausts through a basement window into a sealed collection bag.
That last step matters more than most homeowners realize. A duct cleaning done badly does not just fail to help — it can push settled dust into the air you breathe for days afterward. Negative-air containment is the difference between a cleaning and a redistribution.
Why Edmonton-Area Homes Need This More Than Most
A national franchise script does not account for what Alberta homes actually go through:
- Long heating seasons. Your furnace runs hard from October through April — six or seven months of continuous air movement pulling dust, pet dander and construction fines through the system.
- New-build dust. The tri-region has been building aggressively for two decades. Drywall dust, sawdust and construction debris sit in the ductwork of newer homes and circulate the moment the furnace fires up.

What A Duct Cleaning Should Actually Deliver

Common Questions
How often should ducts be cleaned?
For most Edmonton-area homes, every three to five years. Sooner if you have renovated, have pets, have allergy sufferers in the house, have been through a heavy wildfire-smoke season, or have just moved into a newly built home still full of construction dust. A company that pushes annual whole-home duct cleaning as routine maintenance is selling you something you do not need.
How long does it take?
A typical single-furnace home takes about two to three hours from setup to the final walkthrough. Larger homes, homes with a second furnace, zone systems, or heavy construction debris take longer. The whole system is done in one visit, and we give you a realistic window when you book.
Do I need to be home?
Someone should be home to let the technician in, point out the furnace and vents, and be available at the end for the walkthrough where we show you the before-and-after photos. In between you are welcome to go about your day — our technicians are fully equipped and work independently.
Is it messy?
It should not be — that is the entire point of negative-air containment. The vacuum holds the duct system under negative pressure the whole time, so dislodged debris has only one place to go: out of your home and into a sealed collection bag outside, not around your living room. Drop sheets go down, furniture is protected, and we tidy up before we leave.
Can you clean ducts in winter?
Yes. We work year-round, and winter is one of the better times to do it — your furnace is running constantly and the windows have been shut for months, so the benefit shows up immediately, in exactly the season you spend the most time indoors. The job does not require the heat to be off for any meaningful length of time.
