Why Sherwood Park Furnaces In Particular

Where You Sit In The Hamlet Sets The Load

Sherwood Park runs seventy-thousand-odd people deep, and a furnace’s working life here depends a great deal on which edge of the hamlet it heats.

The Heartland side breathes different air

The hamlet’s north and east edges sit closest to Alberta’s Industrial Heartland — the refinery and petrochemical corridor that anchors the regional economy. Nothing about that is cause for alarm, and we won’t pretend otherwise to sell a cleaning. But it is physics: ambient particulate runs heavier on that side than the regional average, it settles year-round, and the furnace is the machine that inhales it. Homes toward Lakeland Ridge, Clover Bar Ranch and the northern crescents simply give up more material at cleaning time than the same floorplan on the south side — we see it in the collection bag.

The mature core runs under a canopy

Mills Haven, Glen Allan, Brentwood, Craigavon and Maplegrove are the hamlet’s 1960s and 70s heart, threaded by a share of Strathcona County’s 287 kilometres of paved trail and shaded by trees that have had fifty years to mature. Canopy is lovely and canopy sheds — pollen and seed fluff every spring, leaf debris every fall — and decades-old trunk lines under that canopy hold what the returns pull in. Original-equipment systems here are among the most satisfying furnaces we open anywhere in the region.

The new districts sealed their furnaces in tight

Summerwood, Emerald Hills, Foxboro, Aspen Trails and Salisbury Village are the modern expansion: tight envelopes, HRV-equipped, built fast through construction seasons that left drywall dust and sawdust in the lines. A tight house is efficient, but it recirculates — whatever the ducts carry keeps passing through the furnace. Many of these homes also run an HRV that has never been opened; we clean the HRV for $150 in the same visit, and in this half of the hamlet we recommend it almost by default.

One price across all of it

Wherever you sit, the arithmetic doesn’t move: $345 + GST for a single furnace with every duct run and diffuser connected to it, +$150 per additional furnace, +$60 per zone. Strathcona County addresses don’t pay a travel premium, and the quote you get on the phone is the invoice.

What this means for you

North-and-east-edge homes and never-cleaned originals in the mature core see the biggest change. Tight newer builds benefit most when the HRV is done in the same visit.

What’s Included

Cleaning The Machine That Moves Your Air

One flat rate covers the furnace and everything connected to it. Here is what that actually means.

The blower compartment

The squirrel-cage blower is where the finest material collects, packed into the fins. A loaded blower moves less air, works harder and costs more to run. It is the single highest-impact thing we clean.

The coil area & return drops

Directly above the blower, the A-coil catches everything the filter misses — and because it’s damp in cooling season, what lands there tends to stay. The return drops beside it are the dirtiest ducts in the house.

All connected ducting

Every supply run, every return, every diffuser connected to that furnace — included in the price, not quoted as an add-on. Cleaning the equipment and leaving the ducts is half a job.

Under negative pressure

The whole system is put under suction before anything is agitated. That’s the difference between debris leaving your house and debris being pushed into your living room — and it’s the step cheap operators skip.

Our Process

How We Clean Your Furnace

01

We put the system under negative pressure

A truck-grade vacuum is connected to the trunk line so the entire system is pulling inward before a brush touches anything. Nothing we loosen has anywhere to go except out.

02

We clean the blower & coil area

The blower is cleaned properly, not wiped at. The coil area and return drops — where the heaviest build-up lives — are cleaned in the same pass.

03

We agitate and clear the ducting

Every run and diffuser connected to that furnace is agitated so settled debris breaks free and is drawn out of the house instead of into it.

04

We check your filter & airflow

We tell you what MERV rating your specific furnace can safely handle and how often to change it. Straight advice — we don’t sell filters, so there’s nothing in it for us either way.

Before & after, every time

Our technicians photograph the inside of your system before and after. You see what was in there. It is the only honest way to sell a service that happens inside walls you can’t look into.

Sherwood Park Pricing

No Hidden Fees. No Upsells. Ever.

This is the entire price list. There is no Sherwood Park travel charge and no per-vent pricing.

Single Furnace — $345 + GST

Includes the furnace and every duct run and diffuser connected to it. The standard job for most homes.

Single Furnace + A/C — $405 + GST

The same job plus A/C coil cleaning. Worth doing together — the coil sits directly in the airflow path you just cleaned.

Each Additional Furnace — +$150

Larger and older homes sometimes run a second system. Each one is priced flat, quoted before we arrive.

Each Zone System — +$60

Zoned dampers add real work. We price them honestly rather than pretending they’re free and making it up elsewhere.

Why flat rate

Per-vent pricing is how a $200 quote becomes an $800 invoice. We publish one number so you can compare us honestly against anyone else serving Sherwood Park before you pick up the phone.

Sherwood Park FAQ

Furnace Cleaning Sherwood Park: Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a real factor, honestly stated: ambient particulate runs heavier toward the hamlet’s north and east edges, and it settles in ductwork year-round. It doesn’t change the method — it just means homes on that side tend to benefit from the shorter end of the three-to-five-year rhythm.
Ideally yes, and in the same visit. The HRV feeds the same duct network, so cleaning one without the other wastes half the job. It’s $150 added to your furnace and duct cleaning — core pulled and washed, filters, fans and ports.
No. The hamlet is a regular part of our routes across the Henday, and the price is the same flat $345 + GST we charge in our own home town — quoted before we leave, never adjusted in your driveway.
It’s an opportunity. Five decades of canopy seasons and household life sit settled in those wide original trunks, and a negative-pressure clean pulls all of it out in one visit. The ductwork itself is usually in fine shape — old sheet metal was built to last.
The blower compartment, the coil area and the return drops on the furnace itself, plus every duct run and diffuser connected to it. We put the whole system under negative pressure with a truck-grade vacuum, agitate the settled debris loose, and pull it out of the house. Furnace cleaning and duct cleaning are two halves of one job, so we don’t sell them separately.
No — we clean, we don’t repair or install. If our technician finds something genuinely wrong while cleaning, we’ll tell you plainly and you can call a licensed HVAC contractor. We’d rather be honest about our lane than sell you something you don’t need.
Every three to five years for most homes, alongside the ducts. Go shorter after a new build, a renovation, a heavy wildfire smoke season, or if anyone in the house has asthma or allergies. The full decision guide is at how often furnace ducts should be cleaned.
Yes, year-round. Winter is arguably the best time — the furnace is running hardest and the windows have been shut for months, so cleaner equipment shows up as cleaner air in exactly the season you spend most time indoors. The heat is only off briefly.
